Poet Mussa Ngwira says he is geared to release his debut poetry album.
Ngwira disclosed this in an interview with this publication.
“I started my [poetry journey] while at Kaliyeka Primary School [in Lilongwe]. It was tl when I began composing and reciting poems at different school functions and other platforms,” said the twenty-one year old Ngwira.
He added: “As of now, I am about to release an album titled “Lero Lomwelino” in which several poems like “Kulilira Uchembere”, “Moyo Omweuno” and others will be included. The poems will tackle different issues affecting people’s lives on daily basis.”
Ngwira said he plans to release more poetry albums order to continue entertaining and spreading different messages through poems.
By the will of God, I see myself reaching far in this industry in the few years coming ahead. Some poems from the album have started enjoying airplay,” said Ngwira who is locally inspired by Sylvester Kalizang’oma and Ashiraf Joseph Kadzakumanja and beyond Malawi’s borders he admires Robert Frost and Emily Dickson.
Ngwira writes both in Queen’s language and Chichewa.
