Malawi Vice President Everton Chimlirenji Returns From SADC Summit

After representing Malawi at the 39th Heads of State and Government SADC Summit which took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Vice President b Everton Chimlirenji has arrived back in the country.

Chimlirenji who was delighted by his boss, President Arthur Peter Mutharika had arrived back through Kamuzu International Airport (KIA) in Lilongwe.

Among the key issues at the summit, deligates from the member states approved the SADC Chairmanship by the Tanzanian President, John Pombe Magufuli from the outgoing Namibian President Hage Geingob.

Delegates also approved that Kiswahili language which is commonly spoken by the people of Tanzania and Kenya should be one of the official languages.

While Vice President Chimlirenji was in Tanzania, critics back home questioned his capability to be trusted to attend such a high level international summit amid talks of the Vice President’s incapability to communicate well in English as also about his recurrent goofing when making public speeches.
