Malawi Government Plans to Repatriate Citizens from South Africa
Government Plans to Bring Back its Citizens from South Africa following xenophobic attacks targeting foreign nationals living in the rainbow nation.
The South African citizens are attacking foreigners claiming that they have snatched their jobs.
Malawi government is planning to bring home its citizens from South Africa who are not being spared in the violent attack.
Francis Kasaila minister of foreign affairs has said as the Malawi government is negotiating with their South African counterparts on possible ways of evacuating its citizens.
“Malawians presently need to go in secure places such as police stations and Malawi ambassador’s office to ensure safety,” he said.
Meanwhile 5 people are reported dead and Malawi is one of the countries that has had its citizens attacked.
A lot of governments have started acting upon news of attacking nationals from Malawi, Zambia, Nigeria and Rwanda.
Many businesses and houses for the Nigerians have also been destroyed in this fresh wave of xenophobic attack.
Apart from job snatching, foreigners are also accused of drug trafficking and criminal activities taking place across the Zambezi.
