BWALO LA ACHEWA REFUTES CHIEF’s CLAIM OF CONFLICTS

Bwalo LA a Chewa Foundation ( BOLA- CEFO), has dismissed media and Chewa Heritage Foundation’s ( CHEFO) purported claims that the grouping is working towards dividing the Chewas in Malawi.

CHEFO claims that Bwalo la a Chewa launch would bring in conflicts and a rebellion to tribal authority of the Chewa supreme leader , King Gawa Undi of Zambia.

The Grouping is also on record having appealed to government and stakeholders to desist from working with Bwalo la a Chewa claiming it’s a threat to national unity of the Chewas and social development.

Speaking during a colourful and memorable launch in Dowa on Saturday, National Executive Director of Bwalo LA a Chewa Foundation, Reverend Flywell Somanje, said the launch of the grouping has put to shame all those who are not wishing the grouping well attributing to thousands upon thousands of Malawians who patronised the event.

Rev. Somanje described Bwalo la a Chewa launch in Malawi as a fulfillment of its vision of uniting all the Chewas in Malawi under the supreme leadership of His Royal Highness , Paramount chief Dr. Lundu of Chikwawa.

He lamented that the Chewas beside having the largest population of over 13 million people has no chiefs council and cultural calendar of event in Malawi unlike other tribal groupings.

The Rev. assured all Malawians that Bwalo la a Chewa will give all of its maximum respect to Gawa Undi of Zambia just the same as its patron Dr. Lundu saying the two are from one Chewa family of Nyangu from the Maravi kingdom’s headquarters at Mankhamba in Salima.

Rev. Somanje then , appealed to all the Chewas in Malawi to love one another for the revival, promotion and preservation of the Chewa culture saying the Chewas are one beside being called by other tribal names such as a Mang’anja, a Nyanja and a Chipeta.

He thanked all wishers and the organising committee for dipping hard in their pockets to support the first launch of Bwalo la a Chewa in Dowa assuring Malawians that this will be an annual Chewa cultural calendar of events in Malawi.

Prior to the launch of Bwalo LA a Chewa Foundation, the clergy prayed for the country’s leaders for good governance, desisting from corrupt practices, peace, law and order.
