Chitipa Utd Gifted Bullets a Win On Silver Platter.
Nyasa Big Bullets collected maximum points after out smarting Savenda Chitipa 0-3 in their first Tnm Super League assignment of the Northern region on Saturday.
Playing before a jam packed Karonga District Stadium Bullets settled down quickly and dominated possession in the early moments of the game.
Sensing danger Savenda Chitipa United reorganized their midfield and staberized the situation until one of their boys misplaced his pass only to gift Chiukepo Msowoya a chance to hit the opener for the visiting Bullets.
Just before halftime Hassan Kajoke also made no mistake by capitalizing on another defensive error the boys from the boarder district who played without their head coach Alex Ngwira on the bench made to rest the scores at 0-2.
Ngwira is serving a two game suspension after receiving marching orders last weekend in a game against Moyale Barracks.
Bullets cometely killed the game when Chimwemwe Idana scored an early goal in the second half that demoralized Savenda Chitipa United and possibly put the game beyond their reach.
Speaking to the media in a post match interview Bullets coach, Calisto Pasuwa admitted paying respect to Savenda Chitipa United for being a threat after they were forced to a draw in the first round assignment .
“We failed to play our usual game because this team has been giving us problems, and if you may recall we drew against Savenda Chitipa United in the first round,
“So we played with caution so as to make sure that this game goes in our favour,” Pasuwa said.
The team manager for Savenda Chitipa United Watson Kabaghe expressed disappointment with the suspension of their coach, Alex Ngwira which he said had some psychological effects on his young boys.
“We really missed Alex on the bench who has always been our leader both on and off the field, so playing without him giving out instructions from our technical area has greatly impacted on us negatively,” Kabaghe said.
During the halftime break, the second vice president of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Orthaniel Hara presided over the donation of sheen pads to Savenda Chitipa United FC which the Northern region’s Super League official, Henry Banda pledged sometime back.
Banda has now fulfilled his promise of buying sheen pads for all the super league sides in the northern region which in total are worthy Mk1 million.
As we went to press Nyasa Big Bullets were expected to meet Karonga United on the same venue on Sunday to complete their weekend’s Tnm Super League assignments of the northern region.
