Government To Borrow K10.9 Billion
More borrowing as Parliament has given a go ahead to minister of finance to borrow money amounting to 6.8 billion kwacha and 10.9 billion kwacha respectively.
The 6.8 billion kwacha that is being borrowed from African Development Fund – ADF aims to expand fisheries, aquiculture and watershed management in the country while at the same time marketing the country’s Chambo for international market.
Again government is borrowing 10.9 billion kwacha from the international development association to assist tapping power from Mozambique.
Speaking at Parliament Today in Lilongwe, minister of finance, economic planning and development Joseph Mwanamveka said the regional interconnector project will help change electricity challenges in the country.
The minister also said the African Development Fund ( ADF) will help to ensure that all the fish and lakes in Malawi are safe and secured
