MACHINGA CONCERNED RESIDENTS WANTS DC OUT
Concerned residents in Machinga district have penned the authorities to transfer Mrs. Rosemary Moyo to another district and not Machinga as their District Commissioner.
Government recently made transfers for DCs one of them being Rosemary Moyo to Machinga from Mchinji a development making the communities faulting government for condoning corruption.
Moyo’s transfer was propelled by the angry communities in Mchinji accused her of nepotism and corruption with some council officers enriching themselves at the expense of the poor in the district.
In the letter, the concerned residents from the areas of T/As Mposa, Chamba, Nkoolo; Liwonde, Kapoloma and Kawinga, alerted the council and police on their planned demonstrations forcing government to transfer the DC.
The residents says the demonstrations will start from Machinga TTC to Liwonde where the council offices are located.
They have since given the authorities 7 days for the DC Rosemary Moyo to pack up and go and failing which they will hold vigils for one months just the same as what she witnessed in Mchinji before government transferring her to Machinga.
And in other related demonstration protest news, Concerned Communities in Salima have given 4 days of holding demonstration protests from 15th- 18th October, 2019 to force the District police Officer- In- Charge , other police officers and some business captains out of the district.
The concerned communities allege that the O/C , two CID officers, one NIS officer and 3 foreign business captains have destroyed the district and no need to keep them.
