FAM Presidential Candidate Sought Witch Doctor’s Help.
As the count down to the Football Association of Malawi(FAM) ‘s elective general assembly continues one of the candidates is said to have approached a witch doctor (name withheld) at Kapoka in Chitipa District for help despite having already secured a nomination.

A source close to the witch doctor (name withheld) has confirmed to this publication that a football official who is a businessman from Mzuzu city (name withheld) went to Kapoka in Chitipa to collect the charm which the candidate is bathing whenever meeting the affiliates.
He further said, the Mzuzu based official collected the charm which his master vying for the football association’s presidency uses to bath each time he is meeting the electorates.
‘The gentleman who is shorter and dark brown in complexion came here at Kapoka and got the charm which he said his boss who stays in Lilongwe sent him wants to use so as to triumph in the football Association’s presidential elections,’ he said.
The source further revealed that the two officials from the region (north) also vying for seats at Mpira House are also bathing the charm.
Commenting on the development another candidate vying for the same FAM presidency, Alufeyo Chipanga Banda could not expressed any surprise with the rumor which he said he got the news as soon as that happened.
“I also heard about it but how can someone who has already been in football for sometime resort to turn to the witch doctors instead of just dwelling on what he has learnt during his stay at Mpira House?
” Charms from the witch doctor cannot help anyone win the election, I can assure you that is just a waste of time,” Chipanga said.
In a related development one of the officials from the same NRFA also is reported complaining that some affiliates in the Central region shunned the meeting they organised in Lilongwe a couple of days ago.
Meanwhile, Moses Mkandawire, Alufeyo Chipanga and James Mwenda are the only candidates who have declared their interest to contest on the position of FAM president.
The incumbent FAM president, Walter Nyamilandu is still yet to make his position clear as to whether he will contest or not.
