The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Hon. Bright Msaka SC on Friday said Malawi will soon have an established professional body that will regulate and spearhead the human resource profession in Malawi.
The Minister said the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Department of Human Resources Management and Development (DHRMD) and other key stakeholders, including the Institute of People Management Malawi (IPMM), have been working on the draft bill titled “Institute of Human Resources Management Bill, 2019”.
Speaking at the opening of an IPMM annual general conference at Nkopola Lodge in Mangochi, Hon. Msaka said through a properly regulated professional body that is supported by an Act of Parliament, all those practicing the profession will be bound by a Code of Conduct for Human Resource Management Professionals
Malawi, he said, will benefit immensely from having a professional body to regulate the Human Resource Management Profession, since this is the most critical resource in any organization.
