Mzuni students seek legal Justice against the University vice Chancellor Prof. Saka

There were Chaotic scenes at Mzuni campus yesterday morning to night, Police were firing teargas at the students who are demonstrating and planning to get an injunction against Professor Kalenga Saka’s decision not to allow students with outstanding fees balance access their end of semester exams.

On campus, students vacated their hostels running for their life while Police were all day available at the campus with huge volumes of teargas

Meanwhile the academic has released the MEMO to inform students that those who have not yet registered should start today and those who are failing to access their exams or they are failing to register due to fees issues should meet the relevant authorities before 5pm today

Despite the released MEMO, some students are still planning to continue with the demos saying the information given in the MEMO is not that enough but rather “the VC Saka must fall” for failure to handle the matter with diligent

Some students are complaining saying the memo is specifying those with no financial issues(no fees balances) to visit the office of the ICT director but as students they are concerned for their fellow students who have fees balances and cannot raise up that money to view their results.

“On the other hand about registration they are still talking about paying half of the fees clearing your account for one to register, back in the days we would register without paying the fees and pay on a later date but this new development that was not communicated to us earlier will affect those who do not currently have half of the fees to register as such, Demonstrations should proceed” they Said.

There have been silent meetings among the university staff about the issue at the campus, but their resolution on the matter has not been communicated to the students yet
