Silver Hold Mzuni As Makawa Shun Media.
The capital city giants Silver Strikers were held to a one all draw in a rather dull game played before a sizeable crowd at the Mzuzu stadium on Saturday.
Makawa talking to Kadenge after the match
Silver Strikers opened the score sheet in the 11th minute when their man of the moment, Khuda Muyaba connected home a Duncan Nyoni cross which come as a result of Mzuni’s poor marking on the blind side.
The first half ended with nothing worthy writing on the part of the home team since the bankers continued piling pressure on them, but only for Silver to see their efforts being well thwarted by the Lughano Kaira led Mzuni’s defense.
Mzuni rejuvenated in the second half and became a totally changed side and they started piling pressure on the Central Bankers until Collins Nkhulambe connected home a high ball which was well floated into the box giving Bright Munthali in goals for Silver no chance.
From there onwards Mzuni deployed every technique into the game and managed to frustrate Silver Strikers with every delaying tactic possible.
For no apparent reason the Silver Strikers coach, Abasi Makawa who was visibly angry refused to grant any interview to the media.
The assistant coach for Mzuni FC, Etison Kadenge expressed gratitude with his charges for what he described as mission well executed.
“We did not play our usual passing game because we know how our opponents play, so we needed to defuse their tactics by resorting into that game which was characterized by those wild shots,
“It is true we have remained with seven games and let me give you a prophecy that Mzuni shall return into the Super League come next season,” Kadenge said.
With the result, Silver Striker still stuck on position four with 41 points while Mzuni remain on position 13 with 22 points from 23 games.
