Four Instructors at Mbandira Community Technical College in Nkhotakota have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau ( ACB) over corruption allegation.
ACB’s Principal Public Relations Officer Egrita M. Ndala has confirmed of the development and identified the four as Mike Maseya, Jomo Chifomboti, Alinafe Wane and Edson Kaudzu.
This follows a complaint recieved by ACB on ,1st March, 2021 alleging that the Technical College procured learning materials worth K3,500,000 instead of K10,000,000.00.
“The ACB conducted investigations which established that Mike Maseya, Jomo Chifomboti, Alinafe Wane and Edson Kaudzu both instructors at the college procured learning materials worth K3,500,000 and shared K6,500,000 among themselves,” Ndala said in a statement.
Maseya, Chifomboti and Wane were arrested by the Bureau on April 5th while Kaudzu was nabbed on April 6th, 2022 and taken to Nkhotakota Magistrates court where they were released on bail after satisfying court conditions.
“They are likely to be charged with misuse of public office, theft, money laundering and forgery and they will appear in court on 10th May, 2022 for commencement of trial,” She said.
