Two men are in police custody in Mzuzu for allegedly impersonating police officers.
The suspects are Gift Muyaba, 27, and Victor Khonje, 25.
Mzuzu Police Assistant Public Relations Officer, Mercy Chitonde says the two went to a house at Ekwendeni Trading Center and lied to a business lady.
“They said they were police officers from Ekwendeni Police Unit investigating illegal businesses.
“One of them was wearing a Malawi Police reflective jacket.The woman became suspicious of their behavior and called the real police, who arrested the men,” says Chitonde.
The suspects will soon appear in court to answer charges levelled against them.
Both hail from Mzimba District.
