First Capital Bank (FCB) says its K10 million Swipe and Dash Promotion has successfully advanced financial inclusion while encouraging more customers to embrace digital banking services.
Speaking during the final prize draw held in Blantyre, FCB Head of Products Chitsanzi Gadi said the promotion, which ran from April to June, recorded increased use of the bank’s digital payment platforms.

The promotion rewarded customers across Malawi’s three regions with trolley dash prizes. Three winners were selected from Mzuzu, Lilongwe and Blantyre, with first-place winners receiving K500,000, second-place winners K300,000, and third-place winners K100,000.
In addition, one customer from each region won a dinner for two at any Sunbird Tourism plc hotel in the country.
One of the top winners, Ulemu Kumwenda from Mzuzu, who received the K500,000 trolley dash prize, expressed gratitude after being informed of his victory.

To qualify for the promotion, customers were required to spend at least K50,000 at participating Chipuku Stores in Blantyre, Lilongwe or Mzuzu and deposit their purchase receipt in designated entry boxes located in the stores.
FCB said the campaign formed part of its broader strategy to promote cashless transactions and strengthen customer adoption of digital financial services.
