Speaking during the official launch of the promotion on Thursday, NBS Bank Chief Operating Officer Shadreck Chikusile highlighted the importance of cultivating a strong savings culture as a key driver of personal financial security and national economic growth.

Chikusile observed that while Malawi has made notable progress in expanding access to financial services, many people still struggle to save money consistently despite earning an income.

“We have seen significant improvements in financial inclusion over the years, but there is still a need to encourage more Malawians to join the formal banking sector and develop a habit of saving. Saving money is essential for financial stability and long-term prosperity,” said Chikusile.NBS Bank commits K5 billion to BEAM sanitation drive

According to NBS Bank, customers who wish to participate in the promotion must maintain a minimum balance of K250,000 in their accounts and actively transact using NBS banking services. Customers enrolled in the bank’s family banking service will also have an opportunity to qualify for and win prizes.
