Money transfer institution Mukuru has supported this year's Sand Music Festival with 9 Million Kwacha. The eminent music festival which starts from 30th to 2nd October at Kambiri Beach in Salima continues to earn support from the corporate world at a time when Zambian Yo Maps has been named the first international act. Speaking after presenting a cheque today, Charles Phiri, Country Manager for Mukuru said the decision follows the company's interest in promoting the arts industry in Malawi. Mponela Catholic choir to launch 4th DVD

KONDWANI KANDIADO- CITIZEN JOURNALIST The Mponela Catholic Choir 1 of the Lilongwe Archdiocese says they are set to launch their long awaited fourth DVD on July 31, 2022. The DVD titled 'Zonsezi ndindani' has songs like Mtendere, ndikamva njala, timuthokoze, iwe mkhristu ochimwa among others which have already started enjoying air play. According to the Choir Chairperson, Anastanzia Banda, Zonsezi ndindani, is the fourth DVD to be launched after Nanzikambe, Mlomo and Ndikadakhala ndi mapiko. Banda said preparations are at an advanced stage to have the DVD launched on Sunday afternoon at Linde Motel in the district. Castel Malawi has this afternoon announced a K16 million sponsorship towards this year's Sand Music Festival. The amount has been doubled from the K8 million the company pumped into the event last year. Unveiling the sponsorship at their headquarters in Blantyre, the company's head of national sales Nelson Banda said they believe in the cause and the spirit of the event as a tourism driver. Chitungwi Catholic Church In Lirangwe is still closed following a video Queen Sheba (Rachel Muyepa) and Wikise shot in the church. The video depicts Queen Sheba pestering Wikise (a pastor in this video) to cleanse her of demons that causes her to dress seductively. Church congregants and authorities were shocked to learn that some elders at the church permitted such a video to be shot in their church. The congregants wants the church to be cleansed and rededicated to God again before they can start worshiping in it. Queen Sheba has since written a letter of apology to archbishop Thomas Msusa of Blantyre diocese.

One of the country's renowned musicians, Sir Paul Banda, is urging government to consider buying dialysis machines for the country's district hospitals to ease treatment access by kidney patients. Banda says he pays about K200 thousand for dialysis treatment at one of the country's private hospitals every week.
