AN OPEN LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF MALAWI .
Ref, RESPECTING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS THE CORNERSTONE OF ANY DEMOCRACY.
MR PRESIDENT RESIGN OR CALL FOR A REFERENDUM,
Dear Mr president Chakwera,
Accept my greetings,
Your excellency sir,
Apologies in advance for communicating you through this unusual public platform.
I do trust that with this advanced technology my letter will reach your desk at a speed of light.
Your excellency sir,
Allow me to briefly introduce myself, iam an ordinary citizen whom you owe me a better Malawi of equal opportunities in exchange of my vote which I casted for you.
Waking up with a first cock on the elections day enduring long queues and enduring unfavourable weather I sacrificed my own health for your wealth.
Iam here reminding your sir, that you are there in palace because of my vote,and iam here in mtandire languishing in poverty because of your poor governance policies.
I casted my ballot hoping for change in my life and lives of all other citizens in this country.
Today it is very unfortunate that instead of changing our lives to better things has drastically changed to worse, I don’t know if we can call it bad omens for this nation.
Your excellency sir,
Our constitution of the land guarantees us protection because to demonstrate against any injustices in the government is our freedom,therefore denying anyone his rights is inhumane and the violation of the constitution .
The will of the people shall at all times be respected and the sanctity of the constitution must be safeguarded of which you are the custodian.
Alas under your watch we are here today harrassed, tortured and butchered for exercising our own rights to demonstrate.
Your excellency sir,
If your conscience has not departed you pause and ponder for a moment before you teargas on us who are demonstrating for our rights.
Where could you be today palace or prison ?could it been that your predecessors didn’t respect constitution for you to demonstrate.
Let me remind your excellency sir that politics of torture, autocracy,intimidation and iron fist is an outdated politics, it has no any room in our democracy.
Your excellency sir,
In a nutshell your government has failed the people and the country,
We are demanding for either your immediate resignation or referendum ,patriotism is to do a right thing at a right time.
There is no any amount of force, intimidation, or harrassment not even your police can succeed with oppression,respecting the will of the people is the cornerstone of our democracy.
They say you can delay justice but you can’t stop justice.
