FDH Bank Donates Five CCTV Cameras, Three Monitoring Screens To Limbe Police

In a bid to strengthen security in Limbe and surrounding areas, FDH bank has on February 28, 2022 donated five Close Circuit Television(CCTV) Cameras and three 32 inch computer monitoring screens to the Station.

The donation estimated at over K5 million, has come at a time the Station has embarked on CCTV camera initiative dubbed “fighting crime through technology” which will see cameras capturing activities in Limbe and the same being monitored via the screens at the Station.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, FDH Bank Head of Marketing and Communication Levi Nkunika thanked the Station Commander for coming up with such a brilliant initiative.

He said the bank has decided to give the cameras and screens as one way of honoring its corporate social responsibility and as it is one way of dealing with crime technologically.

Nkunika therefore urged other Stations to learn and emulate what their counterpart in Limbe has done, as it is in line with ‘Malawi Vision 2063’.

Receiving the donation, the Officer In-Charge for Limbe Police Station, Mr Gladson Chipumphula Deputy Commissioner of Police thanked FDH Bank for the timely gesture saying this will go a long way in reducing crime.

He further assured the bank officials that the CCTV cameras and monitoring screens received will be put to its intended purpose.

The Officer In-Charge said he wants one day to see Limbe and its surrounding areas crime free where people can ply their business anytime, even during odd hours.

On this, he requested those responsible to bring in street lights as cameras can not operate effectively in darkness.

Speaking earlier, the Station Executive Committee Treasure Mr Khan also thanked FDH bank for the donation, and in the same vein thanked the Station’s Officer In-Charge for coming up with the CCTV camera initiative which has already started bearing fruits.
