Foreign dignitaries to attend funeral of late Chilima

Minister of Information, Moses Kunkuyu Saturday disclosed that foreign dignitaries will be attending the state funeral of the late Vice President Dr. Saulos Chilima.

The State funeral service will be held at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe and is expected to draw a significant number of dignitaries and citizens who wish to pay their respect to the esteemed leader.

Among the dignitaries is the Minister of Defence to Zambia, Ambrose Lwiji Lufuma, Vice President of Tanzania, Philip Mpango and Speaker Of the Parliament of Ghana, Alban Sumana Kingford Bagbin.

Late Dr. Chilima, who passed away unexpectedly earlier this week, has been a pivotal figure in the country’s politics since 2014.

His dedication to economic reforms and anti-corruption efforts has garnered him widespread respect both domestically and internationally.

The presence of these Heads of State underscores the profound impact late, Dr. Chilima had across Africa and highlights the deep respect he commanded among his peers on the continent.
