He Defiled The Child, Stole Underwear

By Yamikani Harji, MACHINGA

Alli Yassin 20, and Gusto Mathews 26 will spend the next 11 years in prison for having sexual intercourse with minors in Machinga district; contravening Section 138 of the Penal Code.

Liwonde Police spokesperson Ngwashape Msume says Yassin had sexual intercourse with a young girl at Chibwana Village where the child attended an initiation ceremony.

“In the process, Yassin also stole various items like cellphone, a pair of sleepers and underwear, all valued at K45.000,” says Msume.

In a similar sad incident, Mathews coaxed another child to Chitani Resthouse at Nsanama where he sexually abused her.

First Grade Magistrate in Liwonde, Lawrence Mangani slapped the duo with 11 years imprisonment with hard labour each for having sexual intercourse with a child, two years for abducting a child and a year for theft respectively.

Both convicts come from Machinga district.
