The almost forgotten Mighty Mukuru Wanderers forward, Christopher Kumwembe was the shining start on Wednesday at the Kamuzu Stadium when he netted a brace against Karonga United in the TNM Super League; giving the Nomads a deserving 2-1 victory.
The result has pushed the Lali Luban side to the league’s log table with 40 points from 21 games.
Now, Chitipa United are closely trailing them with 39 points with the same number of games played.
Karonga United were not good enough to protect their early lead on 3 minutes in the first half through Gabinho Daud as Wanderers left no stone unturned and used their home ground advantage to collect maximum points.
Kumwembe, the Wanderers top goal-scorer, was voted Man of the Match.
