Organizers of this year’s Mulhakho Wa Alhomwe say they have extended invitations to Ministry of Local Government authorities for the cultural festival scheduled to run from October 6-8.
Chairperson for the organizing committee, Mutchanakwaye Mpuluka disclosed this at a media briefing at the group’s headquarters at Chonde in Mulanje district on Saturday.
But he said there are already delegates from other cultural tribes including chiefs from both local and international scene.
In his remarks, the group’s board Trustee, Elvis Thodi said the annual cultural festival will give an opportunity of showcasing various cultural performances, among others.
“The event is aimed at showcasing Lhomwe traditions to people of this country,” said Thodi..
He added there have been tremendous progress with regard to preparations of the festival.
This year’s event, being held under the theme: “Our Cultural Heritage, our shared responsibility,” is pegged at K200 million.
