Pharmavet Opens Mzuzu Branch

Pharmacies and those managing health facilities in the northern region will no longer travel long distances to fetch essential pharmaceuticals for their clients following the launch of a Pharmavet branch in the city of Mzuzu.

The opening of the Mzuzu Pharmavet branch comes at a time when most public and private pharmacy operators were complaining about long-distance travel to access affordable quality services when buying pharmaceutical products.

The newly opened Mzuzu branch Pharmavet’s Pharmacist Ephraim Nkunika says there has been a growing demand for the opening of a Pharmavet branch in the northern region aimed at a convenient and timely distribution network of pharmaceuticals in the region.

“Challenges with distribution systems and the ctheof courier and primary aim to timely meet tThe customer demand for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies in the northern region necessitated the opening of the Mzuzu Pharmavet business center,” Nkunika said.

TThe regional Pharmavet pharmacist downplayed fears that Theite the scarcity of forex emanating from the global economic turndown does not easily affect operation saying as a well-established pharmaceutical distributor necessary strategic measures were already put in place for the facilitation, availability, and distribution of all essential pharmaceuticals.

One of the pharmacy operators from Rumphi district Noel Nyirenda hailed Pharmavet Limited for coming to the rescue of most pharmaceutical dealers in the region whom he said have been demanding better services in the distribution of essential medical supplies.

“It is now cost-effective to access pharmaceuticals and medical supplies within the region otherwise most pharmacies were on the brink of closure,” Nyirenda said.

Apart from job creation and expansion of tax base for the council the opening of the pharmaceutical facility is also in line with some of the resolutions passed during the recent Mzuzu City Summit aimed at improving health statuses for the dwellers and surrounding districts geared to co-create solutions aimed at enhancing the Socioeconomic development and accelerating the smooth implementation plan of the Malawi 2063 agenda.
