Radio Islam Listeners Association (RAILA) on Saturday 8th June 2024, held up a cleanup campaign at Nkhotakota District Hospital,
According to RAILA President Suleman Atupele Chitera said RAILA is in a campaign cleaning in hospitals as one way of promoting hygiene and preventing cholera outbreak which has hit some parts of Malawi.
the campaign was done to make the Nkhotakota District Hospital surroundings clean and also to cheer and provide food lunch to all patients
“We are also planning for another cleaning exercise at another District Hospital” Chitera added.
Speaking during the cleaning exercise, Trustee Mrs Anne Mkando said they we prompted to clean the hospital because they were concerned with the hygiene situation at the hospital facility.

After cleaning exercise Radio Islam Listeners served food lunch to all patients at the hospital,
The management of the hospital commended Radio Islam Listeners Association for the initiative and assured the organisation President that the hospital will support Radio Islam Listeners Association and work hand in hand while conducting activities at the hospital,
Radio Islam Listeners purchased blooms and mops for the hospital contributions, while the hospital provided them with gloves and chlorinated water.
