
Dust Failing To Settle At MERA
Members of staff of the Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) have threatened to commence an industrial action and bar one of their executives, Alinafe Mkavea who is the Director of Fuels from coming to work if the purported renewal of her contract is successful.
The employees, who claim Mkavea has a series of offences against the institution, say their Chief Executive Officer, Henry Kachaje is working behind the scenes to renew her contract against a presidential direction on the 31st of May 2022 that no government officers' contract is supposed to be renewed unless vetting processes have been done.
