This is in reaction to a series of protests that started on Thursday in Blantyre and Zomba, then Lilongwe to force President Lazarus Chakwera to resign. Police in Lilongwe have arrested two organisers of todays demos, Joshua Chisa Mbele and Levi Luwembe, and 31 other protesters who are facing charges of inciting violence. National Police spokesperson Peter Kalaya has confirmed to Nation Online a short while ago that the suspects are currently being held at Area 3 Police Station.
