This comes a day after local authorities sent to Rwanda another warlord and genocide fugitive identified as Theoneste Niyongira. Rwanda's National Public Prosecution Authority spokesperson, Nkusi Faustin has since applauded Malawi authorities for collaborating with them in an effort to end impunity. Homeland Security Minister Kenneth Zikhale Ng'oma has sent a high-powered delegation from his Ministry and Department of Refugees to see the proposed site for a new refugee camp at Kameme in Chitipa District. The Head of the Traffic Police in the Malawi Police Service has urged all traffic police officers to stop confiscating driving licences with immediate effect. Deputy Commissioner of Police responsible for Road Traffic Services, Dorothy Kawale, told MBC that following the interface meeting with the new Minister of Homeland Security, Ken Zikhale Ng'oma, they agreed to stop confiscating driving licences as they are valuable documents that need to be protected by the owners.
