Lawyer for social media influencer, Joshua Chisa Mbele, Gilbert Khonyongwa confirms that the defamation case between his client and Malawi Defence Force Commander, Vincent Nundwe has been moved to Lilongwe. Mbele is alleged to have published on his Facebook page that Nundwe received bribes from Zuneth Sattar. Last week, Justice Ivy Kamanga indicated she wanted Mbele to appear physically in court as the defendant allegedly once we female judges "ugly". Nundwe, the claimant, applied to the court that a ruling of a Hgh Court that was to be referred to the Constitutional Court, should be stayed.

A defamation case between Malawi Defence Force Commander, Vincent Nundwe and social media influencer Joshua Chisa Mbele proceeds this morning in Blantyre. President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is presiding over a graduation ceremony for Grade 2 Senior Command and Staff Officers who have completed a course at the Malawi Defence Force Command and Staff College in Salima. The 20 officers have been acquiring literacy skills in strategic leadership management and high-level command for eleven months. The graduands are expected to receive post-graduate diplomas under the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) and Certificates in High-Level Command. Former President Joyce Banda is among the notable high-profile guests attending the function.

Malawi Defense Force Commander Vincent Nundwe says plans are under way to have strategic programs aimed at upgrading the newly Commander Staff College to start offering Masters degrees. Nundwe disclosed this on Saturday in Salima during the graduation of 20 Grade 2 Senior Command Officers and Staff Officers, who commenced their studies on 4th October last year, covering 46 weeks. Their studies, included civil military relations and national security governance, among others.
