An opposition legislator is describing as a waste of resources the K1.2 billion budgetary allocation to the ministry & national unity.
While pressing for a K500 million deduction to cater for relief support for recent cyclone survivors, the legislator insisted during committee of supply yesterday that the ministry lacks a detailed plan of activities.
Blantyre City South East MP Sameer Suleiman further highlights Malawi’s peaceful status which he contends does not warrant allocating such a huge amount to the ministry.
However, Finance Minister Sosten Gwengwe insists the national unity ministry has a lot on its table including trainings and recruitments.
