265 Energy Promotes Gas as the Viable Energy Option Amidst Environmental Degradation

By Burnett Munthali

As Malawi grapples with the effects of environmental degradation and climate change, 265 Energy has asserted that gas remains the only viable and sustainable energy option for the country. Phillip White, Public Relations Officer for 265 Energy, made the statement as the company received a new consignment of affordable 3kg gas cylinders.

White emphasized the importance of transitioning to cleaner energy sources, citing the environmental benefits of using gas over traditional fuel sources such as charcoal and firewood. “These 3kg gas cylinders have been widely accepted by Malawians because of the significant environmental advantages they offer,” White noted. The shift to gas could help alleviate deforestation and reduce carbon emissions, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.

However, White acknowledged that many consumers have raised concerns about the affordability and accessibility of gas cylinders, especially in rural areas. “While gas is seen as a cleaner alternative, the main challenge has been making it affordable and ensuring it is available in all outlets across the country,” he said, adding that 265 Energy is committed to improving distribution in all regions to ensure no one is left behind.

In an effort to boost adoption, the company has launched a special promotion: the first 600 customers purchasing the 3kg gas package will receive a complimentary gas lighter. White explained that this initiative is part of 265 Energy’s strategy to encourage more Malawians to transition to cleaner energy.

The promotion is expected to drive demand and raise awareness of the benefits of gas usage in reducing environmental harm while providing a reliable and sustainable energy source for Malawians.

More information on this initiative and other energy solutions will be shared in the coming weeks.
