President Chakwera Congratulates U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump on Election Victory

Malawian President Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Monica Chakwera have extended their congratulations to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump following his victory in the recent American election. In a message expressing optimism for continued cooperation, President Chakwera highlighted the strength of the longstanding relationship between Malawi and the United States.

In his congratulatory message, President Chakwera acknowledged the significance of a “smooth and peaceful democratic process” in the United States, commending the example it sets for democratic nations worldwide. He emphasized his anticipation of working closely with Trump’s administration to foster the mutual values shared by both countries.

“We celebrate the smooth and peaceful democratic process that the United States has modelled for the free world,” Chakwera stated. “I look forward to working together with your Administration in strengthening the ties between our nations, building on six decades of bilateral relations that have gone from strength to strength over the years.”

President Chakwera’s message underlined Malawi’s readiness to collaborate with the incoming U.S. administration on advancing shared values and goals, including initiatives focused on prosperity, development, and mutual understanding. His message to Trump also included warm wishes for the new administration’s success in uniting and leading the American people toward a new era of progress and prosperity.

“As such, Malawi stands ready to join you in advancing the values we share in common for the prosperity of our peoples. I wish you utmost success in uniting and leading America and its people towards the golden era you have envisioned. God bless you, Mr. President,” Chakwera added.

This message of congratulations reaffirms Malawi’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with the United States, a partnership that spans over six decades. As Trump prepares to assume office, Chakwera’s sentiments reflect the optimism with which Malawi views the future of this bilateral relationship, hoping to advance shared values and work collaboratively on global challenges.
