Phalombe District receives two boats, marine officers

Phalombe District Council has received two boats and Marine Officers in readiness for Tropical Cyclone Chido which is expected to start on Sunday December, 15.

Disaster Risk Management Officer Florence Harawa confirmed the development saying that the two boats have arrived today (Saturday) afternoon with assistance from World Food Program (WFP).

“I can confirm that we have recieved two boats which are ready to be deployed with the help of the research and rescue team and marine officers have also arrived in the morning to boost the district research and rescue team,” said Harawa.

Currently all the clusters have resumed their works in readiness for Tropical Cyclone Chido.
