Activist Pastor Moses Shumba-the Lion of Judah, has asked the Malawi Defense Force (MDF) soldiers to focus their intention on Mozambicans arriving in Malawi in the name of refugees claiming that some of them are dangerous and hardcore prisoners.
Pastor Shumba said the ongoing unrest in Mozambique has forced prison gates of the main prison in Maputo to open with over 6 million prisoners running away for freedom and obviously, they might have run away to neighboring countries including Malawi.
He said there iare alleged reports that members of the opposition parties in Mozambique are planning to come to Malawi to hunt for Judge Ms. Lucia Ribeiro who pronounced the results of the October, 2024 elections in Mozambique to have been won by Daniel Chapo of the FRELIMO Party.
Speaking through an audio clip, Pastor Shumba said if the alleged reports are true that Judge Ribeira is hiding in Malawi, the authorities in Malawi must send her back home or order her to leave Malawi to another country to host her.
Pastor Shumba said Mozambican opposition parties have issued stein warnings that whichever country is harboring the Judge, will be punished and as a result, there is no need for the judge to be hiding in Malawi but to pay for the destructions in her country.
“Malawians have enjoyed peace, law and order for years and we don’t war in Malawi, let the country be hosting refugees fleeing unrest in Mozambique and not those behind the unrest,” said Pastor Shumba.
On supplementary voter registration, Pastor Shumba has advised Malawians to patronize registration centres with or without national Identity Cards (IDs) warning Mec that Malawians don’t want excuses of faulty cameras saying 5 day-registration is not enough for all those that failed to register in the southern, eastern and northern regions of Malawi.
Pastor Shumba has advised opposition parties DPP, UTM, AFORD, UDF and PP to send monitors and strong youth to all centres to make sure that Mec officials not register 20 people a day and once they discover this, they should close the centres for doing ithis deliberately.
He said for the MCP, they are satisfied with the voter registration, minors in the central region found their way in as voters, some people are registering beside the centres closed but to the opposition parties, there is a long way to go.
