Jumbe says MACRA’s spying machines raises serious concerns

By Vincent Gunde

President of Chilungamo Party Comrade Alhaji Imraan Jumbe, says the deployment of MACRA’s spying machine with six months before the elections is raising serious concerns saying if government claims these machines are for national security, they should wait until after the 16th September, 2025 elections.

Jumbe says no technology should interfere with the people’s right to express their will freely, the method of vote counting must be transparent and credible saying manual counting should be the primary method so that every ballot is accounted for and no dark forces can tamper with the results.

He has warned that if these concerns are not urgently addressed, opposition parties only be playing a long in a predetermined script, they will spend their resources campaigning but the outcome will be decided elsewhere.

Speaking through his face book page, Comrade Jumbe has urged political parties, candidates and every Malawian who values democracy to stand up now or forever hold their peace demanding fairness before it is too late.

Jumbe says the elections coming in September is not just about 2025, it is about the future of democracy in Malawi, a fraudulent election is not just a loss for the opposition, it is a death sentence for the people’s voice.

He has advised Malawians not be the generation that watched in silence as democracy was stolen in broad daylight saying the future of Malawi depends on what they do today urging them not to fail their children.

Comrade Jumbe says Malawi is currently at a breaking point and the cries for change echo in every village, every street, and every home claiming that the people have been thrown into the lion den by a government that has failed them.

“Time for excuses is over, Malawians don’t care who steps in next as long as they bring the change that will rescue the nation from the grip of suffering and poverty,” reads the writings of Alhaji Jumbe on the wall.

He has made a simple advice to Bakili Muluzi TV, that demonizing UTM while glorifying DPP is not the answer, there are no Saints in Malawian politics saying this is not the time to create unnecessary battles that will weaken the opposition observing that if the opposition does not unite, Malawians will pay the price.

Comrade Jumbe says Malawi cannot afford another mistake, the people are suffering and their patience has worn thin saying the time for change is now, the time for unity is now, let those who have ears hear, and let those who have wisdom act before it is too late.
