Ben Longwe urges Malawians to go for Interim government demonstrations

By Vincent Gunde

Human Rights Advocator Sir Charles Ban Longwe, has urged Malawians to change from holding demonstrations against rising cost of living to interim government after the 23rd June, 2025 and this will oversee the General Elections coming on 16th September, 2025.

Ben Longwe said demonstrations against skyrocketing prices of essential commodities will change nothing in Malawi because the MCP government is only surviving on those taxes and once removing the tax, the MCP government will fall.

He said the MCP government received sanctions from international organizations such as the World Bank and IMF claiming that these two institutions cannot give Malawi anymore loans on the claims that the MCP found K3.16 trillion national debts in June, 2020 and today, the country has a national debt of K16.1 trillion meaning that over K13 trillion was borrowed by the MCP government alone.

Speaking from his Hard Knocks University, Ben Longwe said Malawians need to hold serious demonstrations for President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to leave office on the 23rd June, 2025 and from 23rd June to 16th September, 2025 there must be an interim government in the country.

Ben Longwe said after holding huge demonstrations to force President Chakwera to leave office on the 23rd June, 2025 the next demonstrations will be going to Mec under the Chairmanship of Judge Annabel Mtalimanja and Smartmatic machine to go and rest in peace.

He has advised Malawians that issues to do with the rising cost of living must be done after the change of government in September, 2025 claiming that the MCP government cannot change anything after doing nothing for 5 years to address the same.

The Advocator said as the writings are on the wall, Malawi is being run by a guavament not government claiming that if it was being run by a government President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera could have come back to his senses on why People are demonstrating in the streets.

He said when the Heavens break loose, there is no amount of soldiers and police to close it observing that only God has the keys to close the Heavens claiming that what is happening in the country whether the MCP will use money or power, the Heavens will not listen to them.
Ben Longwe has claimed that people who have for 5 years of the MCP government blocking demonstrations from taking place in the country are the ones leading without activists and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) because the Heavens have break loose.

“God is now using market vendors to liberate the country from the shackles of MCP dictatorship, food is very expensive in Malawi, President Chakwera is quiet and not concerned, every day, Malawians are crying, hungry and angry, President Chakwera is not concerned,” he said.

Ben Longwe said it will be difficult with the MCP to hold rallies, they have done a lot of harm and insults to Malawians and this time, Malawians will revenge against the same harm and insults claiming that as Malawians are hungry and angry, they will not give President Chakwera the respect he deserves.

He said K300 million to people to support Age Limit Bill against Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is the greatest insult, Malawians will revenge this insult on the 16th September, 2025 advising the MCP that running government is not opening more prisons, police arresting innocent people, Malawians need good governance and government not this MCP guavament.
