The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has officially announced a highly anticipated whistle stop rally to be held at Mpenu in Lilongwe.

The event is scheduled to take place on the 13th of April 2025, starting from 10:00 a.m. in the morning.

This rally is expected to draw large crowds from across the city and surrounding areas, reflecting the party’s strong presence and renewed momentum ahead of the 2025 general elections.

The whistle stop will involve strategic stopovers in key neighborhoods including Chilinde, Chiwoko, Matchansi, Grittahs, Biwi, Mchesi, and Kawale.

These areas are vital political zones where the DPP seeks to reinforce its grassroots connections and reenergize its support base.

The guest of honor at the rally will be Honourable Alfred Gangata, who serves as the DPP Vice President for the Central Region.

His presence is expected to inspire party members and supporters, especially in the Central Region, where the DPP is working hard to strengthen its political influence.

Also expected is Honourable David Kambalame, the Regional Governor, whose leadership in the Central Region has been instrumental in organizing and mobilizing party structures.

The host of the rally is Honourable Mussa Saidi, the Senior District Governor, who has been pivotal in coordinating preparations for the event.

James Ngauma, the Shadow Councillor for Chilinde Ward, will also be present to represent local leadership and engage with constituents at the grassroots level.

Beatrice Chirwa, the Chairlady for Lilongwe City, is among the senior women leaders expected to mobilize female participation and speak on the importance of women in politics.

Noma Mulanga, the Director of Youth for Lilongwe City Masintha, will bring youthful energy to the rally, encouraging young people to take active roles in the political process.

Boniface Sichinga, the Constituency Governor for Lilongwe City Masintha, is also lined up to speak and will highlight the development needs and political vision for his area.

Willard Silver, the District Organizing Secretary, is tasked with ensuring smooth logistics and mobilization of party members from different zones.

Stella Kubwalo, the District Secretary of Youth, will champion the voices of young Malawians, calling for unity and purpose among the youth wings of the party.

Aney Kampila, the District Chair, brings experience and stability to the team and will likely address the rally on party structures and strategic direction.

Blessings Mafotesa, the Director of Youth for the Central Region, is expected to share insights on the DPP’s plans to empower young people in the region through political and developmental participation.

Honourable Fackson Walapa, the Shadow Member of Parliament for Lilongwe City Masintha Constituency, will address policy issues and the DPP’s vision for the constituency.

Geoffrey Tembo, Councillor for Kawale, Mchesi, and Biwi, will also be in attendance, strengthening the DPP’s local government representation and visibility.

Ellah Mvula, the District Treasurer for Youth, will ensure that the rally’s financial and resource allocations are properly managed.

Together, this powerful lineup represents the DPP’s commitment to reconnecting with the people, strengthening its base, and preparing for a successful 2025 campaign.

The rally is not only a political gathering but also a moment of reflection and mobilization for all members and supporters of the DPP.

The party’s slogan for this event, “APM – Every Time to Proven Leadership,” reminds Malawians of the legacy and leadership of former President Arthur Peter Mutharika.

It also signals the party’s belief in his tested and reliable leadership as the nation gears up for another decisive electoral season.

Supporters are encouraged to attend in large numbers, show solidarity, and participate in this important event that marks a major step forward in the DPP’s political journey.

The Masintha Ground is expected to be filled with blue, chants of unity, and echoes of renewed hope for a better Malawi under the DPP’s proven leadership.
