Ngumuya foresees dark time ahead of September,2025 elections

By Vincent Gunde

Former Blantyre City legislator now based in USA Allan Ngumuya, says he foresee a dark time ahead of the 16th September, 2025 General Elections-a time of violence with panga knives in the streets and innocent people losing their lives.

Ngumuya said if Malawi Congress Party (MCP) is not stopped from its intended violence activities through its youth operatives, Malawi could be heading toward destruction case in point, the current cost of living, things will not improve, they will get worse.

He said it is not surprising that Malawians are now hearing reports of 400 guns entering the country allegedly to be distributed to MCP youth operatives at the same time the country is witnessing the rise of violent gangs -panga wielders (zikwanje) getting ready to terrorize Malawians before, during and after the elections.

Writing on his face book page to Malawians and opposition parties, Ngumuya said he is deeply concerned about the state of affairs in Malawians as the country is approaching the 16th September, 2025 elections.

Ngumuya said the MCP has a specific plan with a clear goal of intimidating and threatening voters, shed blood, and use fear and retain power, claiming that they know they have committed crimes while in office and they are willing to do anything to avoid prosecutions and protect their families and ill-gotten wealth.

He said among the many troubling developments, one of the most alarming is the conduct of President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera that he is reportedly ferrying people from various districts across the Central Region to State House carrying their voter registration certificates.

The USA based Malawian said this practice is not only suspicious but shameful reflecting President Chakwera’s desperate grip on power, saying this is raising serious questions about the credibility of the upcoming elections.

He has questioned the silence of Mec, Public Affairs Committee (PAC), Human Rights organizations on why nothing is being done or even said about these developments saying this is speaking for itself that these institutions know exactly what is happening at the State House.

“Many of these people that are being ferried to State House are swayed by small handouts –K2000, a piece of MCP cloth, a plate of rice or K50,000 from the State House,” said Ngumuya in his writings on the wall.

He has called on the opposition parties to join hands so that the ruling Malawi Congress Party(MCP) must go-either by fire or by force urging Malawians that God has given them the gift of choice, he will not force them but he has given them eyes to see, ears to hear, and a brain to think.

Ngumuya has finally encouraged patriotic Malawians to tell their neighbors, friends, families “no vote to President Chakwera and his MCP” but to vote for Dr. Dalitso Kabambe as he is the only one representing peace, wealth, and economic stability.
