They say, “A tree that hides its roots cannot stand the storm.”
Today, we remind the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) that the people of Malawi are not blind, nor are they voiceless.
We gave MEC a 7-day ultimatum, and we are counting every day with patience—but not silence.
We demand:
- Fresh voter registration—for all eligible Malawians to exercise their democratic right.
- Immediate expulsion of Malawi Congress Party (MCP) veterans and sympathizers from influential MEC positions—you cannot be a referee and a player at the same time.
- Withdrawal of the Smartmatic machines—whose credibility is in serious question. As our elders say, “If you borrow a drum from a witch doctor, don’t expect clean music.”
- Citizens must audit the voters’ roll—what is done in the dark must be
brought to light.
5 Time window for registration need to be extended many citizens are not registered due to situations of hardships which we are currently encountering as a nation
If these just and simple demands are not met, we will seek justice from our courts.
And let it be known: “When the court of the people awakens, even the throne trembles.”
To all political parties: Stop wasting your time and money on rallies.
“Why dance when the music has been switched off?”
This election has already been rigged in broad daylight by the Malawi Congress Party.
Let us not pretend as if we are in a democracy when the pillars of transparency are being bulldozed in silence.
Join me. Stand up. Speak out.be counted.
Let us rise not with violence, but with wisdom, unity, and determination.
Let us not be divided by party colors when the foundation of our democracy is at stake.
As it is said, “He who sees a snake and calls it a rope will be the first to be bitten.”
Let us not pretend all is well. Let us not sleep while they manipulate our destiny.
MEC—your silence is dangerous, your inaction is unacceptable, and your impartiality is in question.
Time is ticking. Justice is watching. The people are rising.
My pen is mightier than a sword.
