Chakwera Mourns Osman

President Lazarus Chakwera has joined Malawians in mourning the iconic national football legend Yasin Osman who died yesterday in Blantyre after a short illness.

Osman, who was a former football player, coach and administrator has died while serving as Technical Director for Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

In a statement, President Chakwera says he will remember Osman, fondly called Titch, Njinga, as an iconic figure who placed the country’s football to its peak between 1960 and 1980.

The football legend has died at the age of 75 and will be laid to rest this morning at his home village in Bawi, Balaka district.
