The voice of the voiceless citizen organization- Malawi First has invited Paramount Chief (Inkosi ya Makosi Mbelwa 5 and northern region political block to appreciate lies that have constructed Mombera university in Mzimba district on 30th July, 2025.
The Malawi First has organized a media tour and press briefing to be conducted at the site for Malawians to listen to themselves the roles played by the Ministry of Finance, Education, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and contractors in the construction of the much-touted Mombera university.
From 2020 government through Parliament has been allocating billions of Kwachas towards the construction of the Mombera university and a press release was made in the daily papers that the first in -take of students will be on the 5th February, 2025.
A Visit made by the Malawi First crew to the site, has established that in what was claimed that government was constructing the Mombera University has been turned not to be true and the first in-take of students of 5th February, 2025 was again proved to be a lie of the century.
Following this development, the Malawi First wrote letters to the Ministries of Education and Finance, ACB and Contractors (Paramount Holdings and Deco construction) to explain to Malawians what they have done with the funds allocated for this university.
President of the poor people in Malawi Activist Comrade Bon Kalindo has claimed that there is nothing at Mombera university worth opening apart from the roads which were built by the former DPP led government under Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika.
Kalindo has claimed that billions of Kwachas allocated to this university entered into the crooked politicians’ pockets saying Mombera university is just a tip of an iceberg to many projects in Malawi which have been completed on paper but on the ground, there is zero development.
President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera during the last parliamentary sitting, spent 3 hours standing outlining completed development projects which his government has undertaken in his five years in office such as security houses, hospitals and other infrastructure development.
It was discovered that President Chakwera implemented most of the completed projects on paper while on the ground the completed projects were not existing and this forced him to return to Parliament to withdraw his State of the Nations Address (SONA).
On a sad note, Kalindo has expressed his grave concern over reports from close sources that the MCP is allegedly mobilizing its thugs to go to Mzimba to hack him with pangas and disrupt the media tour and press conference- Malawi First has organized on the 30th July, 2025 in Mzimba.
Kalindo has alleged that the MCP is not happy because he has exposed the party’s crookedness surrounding construction of the Mombera university and as such, he need to be taught a great lesson for exposing MCPs theft of billions of Kwachas for Mombera university.
He has assured MCP thugs that he is ready to be killed for speaking nothing but the truth saying he is not afraid, what he said for Mombera university bears nothing but the truth that the university was constructed and completed on paper not on the ground.
“Come with all of your weapons you have been using in terrorizing, hacking, intimidating and threatening people, if I am dead, my blood will fuel democratic revolution in Malawi,” said Kalindo.
