Kabambe Vows Transformation and Respect for the North

By Suleman Chitera

UTM Party president Dr. Dalitso Kabambe has pledged to deliver transformative development to the Northern Region and restore dignity to its people, promising respect for all leaders within his party structure.

Speaking to a packed rally of traditional leaders, religious figures, and supporters, Kabambe assured the crowd that his running mate, Matthews Mtumbuka, would be fully empowered if elected Vice President in the September 16 polls.

Kabambe criticized successive governments for marginalizing the North, citing incomplete projects such as the Orton Chirwa International Airport and Mombera University.

“The North deserves better. Malawians have tried DPP and MCP—now it’s time to give UTM a chance to prove itself,” he said, urging voters to demand leadership that prioritizes unity and development.

Mtumbuka, making his first major address as UTM’s vice-presidential candidate, echoed these sentiments:
“It is time for the North to stand firm and demand results, not empty rhetoric,” he declared, vowing to champion anti-corruption reforms, economic growth, and equitable development.

“If elected, our leadership will restore dignity to this region and put Malawi on a path to prosperity,” he added.
