An online television station- Bakili Muluzi TV, has condemned in strongest terms possible the remarks which recently were made by UDF President Atupele Muluzi during whistle-stops rally in the Eastern Region saying voting for Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is voting for Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC.
Bakili Muluzi TV said it is not surprising that these remarks are coming from someone who has been eyeing for the same position that Professor Mutharika will choose him but instead, he chose someone advising him that Malawians this time, will vote for experience not learners.
He said Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC is not just ordinary woman, she is experienced in handling government matters claiming that she is the first woman in Malawi to serve as a senior counsel in the Judiciary unlike Atupele who has never worked anywhere in Malawi apart of taking politics as business.
The activist said Malawians are all aware that plans by Atupele Muluzi to take UDF members to the MCP have failed and is using Plan B of confusing voters so that they don’t vote for Professor Mutharika as doing so will be voting for Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC.
He has asked Atupele Muluzi to focus on rebuilding the UDF which was destroyed by himself advising him that even genuine members and supporters of the UDF are not dreaming of going back to the MCP in the way he is thinking alongside with his father, Dr. Bakili Muluzi.
Bakili Muluzi TV said Atupele Muluzi is on record of telling people he loves them questioning him in what way claiming that after losing elections, he is nowhere to be seen and when elections are around the corner, is when he comes back to lead the UDF.
He said in 2014 after losing elections, Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika appointed him a cabinet minister in his DPP led government claiming that he has been praising Mutharika as a visionary leader, and this was the same in 2020 when he was his running mate.
Bakili Muluzi TV said after losing the June, 2020 elections, Atupele Muluzi left the country for China to do his businesses and he came back to take over the UDF from Lilian Patel as leader of the UDF after announcing his quit from active politics.
He has claimed that Atupele Muluzi has been eating money alone leaving the people he is claiming that he loves them speechless saying for 5 years, people of Machinga have eating wild bushes (chitedze) he did not come to rescue them even with a single bag of maize.
The activist said Professor Mutharika who Atupele Muluzi is regarded as an old person to lead the DPP came out of the Page House in Mangochi to distribute a little food which has to the Machinga people saying this is why Mutharika is being loved by the Machinga people as compared to him.
Bakili Muluzi TV has advised Atupele Muluzi that fighting with Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC will take him and the UDF TO nowhere, assuring him that Malawians are for change of leadership regardless of who that leader is, a man or a woman preference will be an opposition candidate.
“UDF is in the opposition parties, if you are going alone on the 16th September, 2025 leave alone the DPP and Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC,” he said.
Bakili Muluzi TV has reminded him that today he is campaigning for Malawians not to vote for the DPP forgetting that he was part of the decision-makers in the same DPP encouraging him to come back to his senses by joining change for his political ambitions not to die a natural death.
