Lilongwe, Malawi – Presidential aspirant Dr. Michael Usi has issued a stark warning about corruption and theft within the current government, describing some officials as “dangerous thieves” who are undermining national development.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Lilongwe on Thursday, Dr. Usi accused certain leaders of enriching themselves at the expense of ordinary Malawians. “There are dangerous thieves in this government. They have stolen resources that were meant to improve education, health, and infrastructure,” he said.
Dr. Usi emphasized that his campaign is committed to transparency and accountability. He urged citizens to demand honesty from their leaders, warning that continued corruption could derail Malawi’s progress.

He also highlighted that corruption not only drains the country’s finances but also erodes public trust. “Malawi deserves leaders who serve the people, not themselves,” he added.
The opposition leader vowed that if elected, his administration would implement strict measures to fight corruption, recover stolen funds, and ensure that public resources reach their intended beneficiaries.
