Ras David Chikomeni Chirwa has urged youth and women, regardless of their political affiliations, to vote for experience by supporting Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, Justice Dr. Jane Ansah SC, and Peter Mukhito for Lilongwe City Central constituency to ensure meaningful development.
He noted that many youth and women have already registered to vote in preparation for the 16th September 2025 elections and emphasized that voting for experienced leaders is crucial, as inexperienced leadership has negatively affected the country.
Ras Chikomeni called on opposition party leaders to join forces with Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, reminding voters to reflect on the pain and suffering endured under the five-year term of President Lazarous Chakwera and the MCP government.
Speaking at the launch of Peter Mukhito’s campaign at Msambeta School Ground on Sunday, Ras Chikomeni emphasized that Rastas value Peace, Love, and Harmony, and these principles should be evident in all political rallies.
He criticized MBC Director General Mr. Aubrey Kasakula and his team for airing programmes that disrespect elderly citizens, noting that Professor Mutharika is frequently insulted on air without any regard for decorum.
Ras Chikomeni advised MBC management to prepare for accountability regarding their propaganda programming, asserting that Professor Mutharika will return with proven leadership on 16th September 2025.
He added that Professor Mutharika is a leader from whom young people can learn significantly due to his extensive experience in governance, calling the upcoming elections a judgment day for Malawians to choose between experienced leadership and continuing under a learner.
“16th September 2025 will be a judgment day for all Malawians who have suffered under Chakwera’s leadership,” said Ras Chikomeni Chirwa.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Seya Maulidi, a resident of Area 23, expressed regret for having voted for an inexperienced leader in the June 2020 elections and stated that he does not want to repeat the same mistake.
Maulidi praised Professor Mutharika as a caring leader committed to the welfare of citizens and urged the youth to vote for him and Peter Mukhito, warning against wasting votes on inexperienced candidates who continue to harm the area.
He hailed Peter Mukhito as the rightful candidate for Lilongwe City Central, highlighting his achievements such as constructing bridges, completing school roofing projects, and providing desks, expressing confidence that under his leadership, the constituency will become second to none within five years.
