A Concerned Citizen of Malawi residing at Area 51 in Lilongwe Mrs. Elizabeth Kaliza Banda, has claimed that the country will hold the first-ever poisonous elections on the 16th September, 2025 claiming that votes will be manipulated to favor President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera by all means.
Kaliza has reminded Malawians that the 2025 elections have not been funded by the UNDP and European Union as the case with all other previous elections of 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2020 where there was enough voter and civic educations to the voters.
She has claimed that it is only the Nice Trust which received some funding to civic educate the masses on the importance of registering their names and taking part in the voting processes by choosing a leader of their choice.
The citizen says in all the previous elections, accredited organizations were identified to provide civic and voter education to reach out to all masses including those living in the hard to reach areas but these organizations were not funded for the exercise.
She said since 1994 Mec has been recruiting its reporters (stringers) and these were being deployed at the district’s headquarters to cover elections related news and other news, but the 2025 elections, is the difference, Mec has not employed its reporters.
The citizen further claimed that for many years of elections, MBC reporters in some districts to be specifically, central region of Malawi, were not being allowed to announce the results of the elections suspecting them of manipulating figures.
Kaliza said the September, 2025 elections have made MBC to open up encouraging political parties including the opposition to send campaign news to it for coverage in its programmess but, interestingly, the offer was turned down by opposition parties.
She said many Malawians are shaking up their heads in disbelief as if they have horns noting that the MBC has employed its reporters in all the districts across the country to cover news saying this is speaking for itself that MBC only has been accredited by Mec to cover the elections and the results.
“MBC district reporters were trained in Blantyre on their roles and responsibilities and have been given accreditation Identity Cards,” said Kaliza Banda.
The citizen has assured opposition party leaders and the country as a whole that MCP and President Chakwera will do all of what is best for them to remain in government and obviously, Mec will declare President Chakwera the winner.
She has claimed that corruption cases, breaking of the Republican Constitution, undermining the rule of law, mismanagement of donor funds and the tragic death of Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima, and eight others, in the Chikangawa forest, are all waiting for President Chakwera and his ministers only if he loses the elections.
Kaliza said to run away from these cases, President Chakwera will be declared the winner beside millions of Malawians protesting in the country’s streets against the results of the elections as not reflecting the will of Malawians.
She said both MDF and Malawi Police Service (MPS) officers will join the MCP and Mec against Malawians that will be demonstrating in the streets assuring all Malawians that the 16th September, 2025 elections results will favor President Chakwera winning by a landslide victory but 20 million plus citizens will protest the results.
