Ntcheu, Malawi – Former President and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) leader, Peter Mutharika, has assured Malawians that he is ready to rescue the nation from the current economic and social challenges.

Speaking at the old government depot in Ntcheu during his journey to Lilongwe on Thursday, Mutharika said Malawians should expect lasting solutions to hunger and poverty once he returns to power.

A Pledge to End Hunger

Mutharika emphasized that food insecurity is one of the biggest problems Malawians are facing, but he promised that hunger will be a thing of the past under his leadership.

“Malawians should expect that the hunger they are experiencing today will come to an end once I begin leading this nation again,” Mutharika told the crowd.

Vision for a New Malawi

The DPP leader also pledged to build what he described as a “new Malawi,” where wealth and opportunities are shared fairly among all citizens.

“We want a Malawi where everyone benefits equally, a Malawi of prosperity and fairness,” he added.

Call for Support on September 16

Mutharika appealed to Malawians to come out in large numbers and vote on September 16, showing commitment to elect him as the country’s leader once again.

“I am asking you to vote with dedication so that together, we can rebuild this country,” he said.

Road to the 2025 Elections

As Malawi approaches the upcoming elections, Peter Mutharika and the DPP are intensifying their campaign efforts, promising solutions to hunger, poverty, and economic instability. His remarks in Ntcheu mark a continuation of his nationwide mobilization tour ahead of the polls.
