Bakili Muluzi TV online television station has expressed his fears over the Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) delaying the release of presidential results and slowing down the flow of information because MCP is disputing the results from constituency tally centres.

The television station has assured Mec that manipulation will not work, Malawians are watching after the reporters and party monitors have done amazing jobs of keeping photos of results from each polling centre across the country.

It says it is aware of the man-made challenges with the MEC system that it is congested with results coming from all districts across the country including network challenge warning Mec that doctoring of the results if attempted, Malawians will not sit down and watching the situation passing through their eyes.

He gave an example of Lilongwe Rural where a total of 826,000 people were registered as voters and out of it, 562,000 casted their votes saying Mec is hiding the figures describing them as unofficial results advising Malawians to wait for official results.

The activist has asked Mec to explain to Malawians the source from where it will get the official results observing that in America, people win or lose elections through unofficial results but in Malawi, unofficial results are not credible and transparent results.

Bakili Muluzi TV said following High Court order that Mec should only use manual counting and manual transmission, it is strange that Mec is still waiting for the results from its sources referring it as official results assuring Mec that Malawians know who has won the elections.

“In Lilongwe Rural, total registered 750,000, 560,000 people voted, how come one is claiming to have one the election with 850,000 people?” He has questioned Mec.

Social media influencer Mneneri Joshua Chisa Mbele says MCP is hoping for Re-Run, saying this is just showing that they are still not seeing reality, observing that SKC is in his grave standing to block any arrangement that can put MCP in better position.

“In any case, DPP is winning outright,’ reads Chisa Mbele’s handwriting on the wall.

Meanwhile, Chief Economist writing on the DPP forum- Chifipa Mhango, says Malawian vote is under protection through a joker thrown by Mec, claiming that Malawians know the number of registered voters and the number of people that voted district by district which is the voter turnout.

Mhango has warned that what Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja is saying is simple Arithmetic, if the results of any candidate or total number of voters in any district surpass the voter turnout, due diligence will take place.

“While being vigilant, there is hope in the process,” reads his writings on the wall.
