The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has appealed to its supporters to remain calm and peaceful as the Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) prepares to announce the official election results later today at the National Tally Centre in Lilongwe.

Addressing a large crowd gathered at the Nyambadwe residence of former President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, DPP National Youth Director Norman Chisale urged party faithful to exercise patience and await MEC’s official declaration.

In her remarks, DPP Director of Women, Mary Navicha, emphasised that the party stands for peace and unity. She encouraged Malawians to uphold these values during the crucial moment.
Navicha also thanked the people t who had gathered at Mutharika’s residence, describing their presence as a strong show of solidarity.
