Freedom fighter and rights activist Hon. Kamlepo Kalua, has claimed that President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika is not being told the truth on the 2025/2026 Budget observing that the budget was prepared according to the needs of ministries but it seems government has lost the battle.
Kalua said the DPP is in deep slumber, it is business as usual saying Professor Mutharika does not know how much was stolen and left suspecting that people surrounding him including his ministers, are not telling him the right information.
He said councils across the country are better placed to tell how much was budgeted for their projects and received out of the budget requested for government to follow, but people are busy blaming President Professor Mutharika that he is weak and not delivering.
Speaking through an audio clip, Kalua has called for lifestyle audit to be conducted on former MCP ministers claiming that 5 years ago, they had nothing in their houses and pockets, but come today, they are billionaires over a night.
Kalua has dismissed claims which other people are making in Malawi that the country is poor and is the paramount chief of the 46 poorest countries on the Earth’s planet saying the truth of the matter is that Malawi is the richest country.
He said Malawi is poor because its politicians have created poverty for the people to be praising at them as servant leaders while they are not observing that these people are the ones who are creating problems for the DPP to lose the 2030 elections.
The Freedom Fighter said man- made poverty is making President Professor Mutharika to be described as a failure in his leadership that he promised this and that but he has failed to deliver for Malawians not to vote for the DPP.
“It is sad that some of us when we are hearing that Professor Mutharika has failed to deliver, we wonder why they are saying so, it is them who have hidden billions of Kwachas in their houses,” said Kalua.
He has assured Malawians that from now to 2030, he will be telling them nothing but the truth for them to know that the so called billionaires the country is having today, have stolen from government coffers billions of Kwachas.
Kalua said the political History of Malawi has been poverty and lies saying this has resulted to disputes and fighting between presidents and their Vice Presidents observing that all this was started in 1961 between Kamuzu Banda, Dunduzu Chisiza SNR and Orton Chirwa.
He said Kamuzu Banda was told by some members of his cabinet that these people had plans to kill him saying the same, was observed with Dr. Bakili Muluzi and Justin Chimera Malewezi, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika and Dr. Cassim Chilumpha, Professor Bingu wa Mutharika and Dr. Joyce Banda, Dr. Joyce Banda and Khumbo Kachali up to Dr. Lazarus Chakwera and Dr. Saulosi Klaus Chilima.
Kalua said he is praying that President Professor Mutharika will be a different person, there will be no political disputes and fighting with his Vice Presidents on the claims that one is planning to kill the other as happened previously.
