Banda lauds Chakwera for declaring 23 districts as disaster areas

In a grand display of democratic fervor, the People’s Party (PP) has reaffirmed that it will hol its forthcoming electoral convention on the first week of September, 2024, in the Capital Lilongwe.

Speaking today on Sunday 24th March 2024 when addressing the rally in Lilongwe’s Area 23, the party leader, Dr.Joyce Banda said everyone has to take a portfolio of supporting needy families in the country.

Banda praised President Chakwera for his decision to declare 23 districts as disaster areas.

This comes following the impending 2025 tripartite elections electrifying the political atmosphere.

Banda has unveiled the party’s meticulous preparations for this momentous occasion.

She elucidated that every position within the party hierarchy will be fiercely contested, promising a spectacle of ambition and aspiration that is sure to captivate the nation.

Banda has urged Malawians, both individuals and non-governmental organizations, to respond to President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera’s plea for assistance to communities experiencing food shortages.

” It takes courage for a leader to make such a declaration, we commend him for that,” said Dr Banda.

She said it is now time for people to support the government in providing relief food to the affected households.

“Let’s for once stop politics of castigation and help mitigate the suffering of the poor,” added Dr Banda.
